Sadō Gin is a hand-crafted gin inspired by the Hojicha roasted green tea which originated in Kyoto, Japan over a hundred years ago. Distilled in the UK, the distillation of Sadō Gin takes place in small copper pot stills, 200 bottles at a time, in England. The gin is then reduced to 46% of alcohol to best showcase all the aromas and flavors it contains. You can enjoy Sadō Gin mixed in cocktails or simply with your favourite tonic water.
Tasting Note by The Gin Guide
“The Hojicha tea from Japan is prominent but not overpowering, delivering distinctive green tea
notes on the nose and palate, as well as contributing to the dryness of the finish. The tea flavor’s are
layered with citrus, lemongrass, floral elderflower and pink pepper spice, which are well-balanced
and harmonize with the tea notes for a contemporary profile. There’s structure and depth without
being overcomplicated, and the mouthfeel is enjoyably smooth.”
Serving Suggestions
Sadō Gin is fantastic straight up, but also in classic gin martinis with the twist. We also love it in Tom Collins, Negronis, Gin Fizzes, Mint Gimlets, French 75’s or even martini with Sadō Gin and sake.
*Although listed as from Japan, the gin is produced in the UK.
